What the legal guarantee is
The legal guarantee of conformity is a protection granted by law to every consumer for any consumer good sold in the European Union. It lasts a minimum of two years from delivery of the product and is always free of charge: it should not be confused with any commercial guarantee offered by the manufacturer.
The seller is liable for any lack of conformity that already existed at the time the goods were delivered and that becomes apparent within the guarantee period.
When you can rely on it
You can exercise your legal guarantee rights when the product you received, for example:
Does not match the description
The item differs in material, colour, size, quantity or features from what is stated on the product page.
Does not work as expected
The item is not fit for its intended purpose, or does not deliver the performance and quality that can reasonably be expected.
Is faulty or incomplete
The product has manufacturing defects, or accessories, components or instructions included in the supply are missing.
The remedies available to you
Where there is a lack of conformity you are entitled, at no cost to you, to have the goods repaired or replaced. If this is impossible, does not happen within a reasonable time or causes you significant inconvenience, you may ask for a proportionate price reduction or, where the defect is not minor, for termination of the contract with a refund of the amount paid.
Good to know: some countries provide for a legal guarantee period longer than two years. For second-hand goods a shorter period may apply, but it can never be less than one year.

Commercial guarantees and the GARAN label
Sellers and manufacturers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply in addition to and independently of the legal guarantee: they do not replace it and do not limit your rights in any way.
The GARAN label identifies a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the manufacturer at no extra cost, covering the good as a whole and lasting longer than the two years of the legal guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
Does the legal guarantee cost anything?
No. The legal guarantee of conformity is always free of charge and is granted by law to every consumer: it does not have to be purchased or activated.
When do the two years start?
The guarantee period starts from the date the goods are delivered, not from the order or payment date.
What is the difference between the legal guarantee and the right of withdrawal?
They are two separate protections. The right of withdrawal lets you return a product bought online within 14 days without giving any reason. The legal guarantee applies instead when the product has a lack of conformity, and it lasts two years from delivery.
Does the guarantee cover breakage and damage caused by improper use?
No. The legal guarantee covers defects already present at the time of delivery. It does not cover accidental breakage, nor damage resulting from improper use, impacts, thermal shock, lack of care or normal wear and tear.
How do I claim the guarantee on an Alberoshop order?
Open a request through our support portal, stating your order number, the product concerned and a short description of the defect, and attaching a few photographs. We will reply with instructions for repair, replacement or refund.

Brand GARAN warranties
Some manufacturers offer, in addition to the legal guarantee, a free commercial guarantee of durability identified by the GARAN label. Below are the brands available on Alberoshop.it that provide one, together with the terms declared by each manufacturer.
We are your point of contact. Even when the guarantee is provided by the manufacturer, you do not have to contact them directly: open a request through our support portal. We check the coverage, file the claim with the manufacturer and follow it on your behalf through to repair, replacement or refund.

Feel free to wash these items either by hand or in the dishwasher after every use. Make sure to rinse them carefully, so that tasting wine or other drinks is even more enjoyable.

Coverage and details of the limited warranty. The manufacturer’s 25-year Limited Warranty covers chipping of the rim or foot, as well as cloudiness caused by washing. Should you experience any of these issues, Bormioli Luigi S.p.A. (Viale Europa 72A – 43122 Parma, Italy) will replace your product at no additional cost; the customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the chipped or clouded glass to Bormioli Luigi S.p.A.
This warranty does not cover broken products, or any product damaged by improper use or inadequate care.
How to send products for a warranty claim
Bormioli Luigi S.p.A. will replace any product showing chipping on the rim or foot and cloudiness as illustrated in the photographs published by the manufacturer. Bormioli Luigi S.p.A. reserves the right to replace the item with a product of equal or higher quality should it no longer be in production.

What is covered
Every Le Creuset enamelled cast iron product, when purchased directly from Le Creuset or its authorised retailers and used for household purposes, is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
What is not covered
- Defects not due to manufacturing.
- Products not purchased from Le Creuset or its authorised retailers in the country of purchase.
- Products without proof of purchase or gift receipt, where applicable.
- Products resold, assigned or transferred to another person, except where the product was a gift from the original purchaser.
- Damage or defects caused by failure to follow the Care and Use Instructions.
- Damage or defects caused by third parties, transport, storage, external causes, negligence, abuse or improper use.
- Any damage, defect or use pointed out to the purchaser at the time of purchase.
- Normal wear and tear, scratches, marks, stains, discolouration or corrosion.
- Products used for commercial (non-household) purposes, counterfeit products, and products modified or repaired by parties not authorised by Le Creuset.
- Indirect or incidental damage, loss of time or inconvenience.
- Stoneware or enamel on steel elements whose warranty period has expired.
Who can claim it
Only, upon presentation of proof of purchase (or gift receipt, where applicable), the original purchaser of the product, or the recipient of the new and unused product received as a gift from the original purchaser.
How to claim it
If you bought the product on Alberoshop.it, the claim is opened with us: write to us through the support portal, stating your order number, the product concerned and a short description of the defect, attaching a few photographs. We file and follow the claim with Le Creuset for you.
The warranty can only be claimed in the country where the product was purchased. If Le Creuset Customer Service asks for the product to be returned, we will tell you how to proceed: your name and contact details, proof of purchase, the name of the retailer and a note clearly explaining the defect and the circumstances are required. Return shipping costs are initially borne by the customer; if, after inspection, the product is found to be defective and covered by the warranty, Le Creuset will reimburse the reasonable costs incurred for the return.
What Le Creuset will do
If the product and its owner are covered by this warranty, Le Creuset will, at its discretion, repair or replace the product and send it to the customer free of charge. In the case of a set of products or of stoneware or enamel on steel elements, only the defective product or element within the set will be replaced. Should the product no longer be in production or available, Le Creuset will replace it with a similar product or one of equivalent value; the replacement is not guaranteed to be of the same colour or material.
