The Sassella Valtellina Superiore DOCG 2021 – Fratelli Polatti is a Piedmontese red wine of Lombardy origin that fully expresses the character of the terraced vineyards of the Valtellina Superiore DOCG. Produced primarily from Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) with a blend of native varietals such as Pignola and Rossola, this Sassella is distinguished by its ruby red color with garnet highlights and a fine, complex bouquet of ripe red fruits, floral accents, and light spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is dry, harmonious, and savory, with elegant tannins and a freshness that supports its structure. The balance between fruit and aromatic depth makes it suitable for immediate consumption as well as for brief bottle aging for those seeking greater complexity. This Sassella is a wine with a strong territorial identity, an expression of the heroic viticulture of the Valtellina area, where the vines are cultivated on steep terraces that require manual care and constant attention.  Perfect with rich dishes, it pairs naturally with grilled red meats, game, roasts, aged cured meats, rich cheeses, and meat-based pasta dishes. Serve at 16–18°C to enhance its aromas and persistent flavor.
